WHERE TEAPOTS AND TUNA BREATH LIVE IN HARMONY
Sweety was 5 years old when she arrived at the Lancaster, California shelter as a stray in late July 2023. She was sick, in the ISO ward and received antibiotics. She weighed just FIVE pounds and had not been spayed yet. It was pretty much a certainty that nobody was looking for her.
In September, Sweety was given 72 hours (a deadline sometimes released by a shelter as a warning they intend to kill a pet). So, we scrambled to network, get pledges, line up a possible foster and get an available shelter partner rescue interested in pulling her. Somehow the magic happened and Sweety was rescued.
It was complicated because Sweety needed to be transported to another city to be fostered. Every effort to arrange something local in upper Los Angeles seemed to fail. That is where I came in. I donated $100 for her transport, which entailed a nice couple who rented a car and drove many miles to deliver Sweety to her temporary home. Takes a village. I hope it all works out for Sweety.
