Easy-Going Summer

A few favorite items grace my entryway table during August. A pretty, modern-day Chintzware candle holder, seashells and sand, a coveted collectible platter oozing feminine blue vibes. Added to that, a cute, straw-hatted cat nibbling on a tasty ear of corn on the cob. How delightful. The cat was a gift from my son-in-law. For casualness, I tossed a long beaded necklace on the white lace doily. That was a birthday gift from my sister Roxanne, long ago. The silver beads tarnished to almost black, and I have purposely not polished them because the aged patina is warm and perfect. The vignette makes me smile when I go out the door or just pass by. It evokes thoughts of an easy-going summer, special moments and happier times.
