We rescued Shadow, an unsocialized kitty, in December 2020. I paid his shelter fees to secure his freedom, and Linda bailed him out. (My role in these “saves” is sometimes called “armchair rescue” as if it is less important because I am not on the streets grabbing cats anymore. But it’s really just hands-off rescue. Financial sponsorship is a necessary and meaningful cog in the wheel.) Last I knew, his gorgeous growliness was being assessed at a wonderful lady’s home (Julie’s), and we’re hopeful Shadow will find a most pleasant situation.  Every cat deserves a chance to live their best life. Even Shadow. He doesn’t look too happy in his freedom photo (airplane ears alert), but I have a good feeling that his life will improve. How could it not? #NewBeginnings

Someone found Blonde Boy in July 2020 with an imbedded Foxtail infection and dropped him at the shelter. We networked hard for him, and I pledged $$ to any rescue who could pull him. He was 5 years old, and although an obvious beauty, he had been lingering in a steel cage for 30 days. The Lancaster Team Supreme saved him; looks better in his freedom photo, huh? It takes a village to rescue cats. Networking. Pledging money. Transporting. And of course, fostering until adoption. #SecondChances

This gray and white cutie was FIV+ but the Lancaster Team Supreme managed to bail him out of the shelter in January 2020 and transport him to a rescue in Washington! It took a lot of effort and a compassionate team of rescuers to make it happen. I donated the cash for his Health Certificate (something the shelter required before release). Love happy endings!

Mr. Crumples was rescued in January 2020. We needed to get this 10 yr old, FIV+ guy out of the shelter quickly. Thanks to a few of us who came up with the fees, Mr. Crumples (not his real name) was able to find foster care. I sure hope he’s not as irascible in person as he looks in this photo. The last I heard, he entered a witness protection program and is in hiding. Purrfect. 

Look at who left the shelter. Pretty Blue Eyes! (I mean Link). I was very confident that Link would get rescued. He has killer Siamese features. Those eyes!  Link was bailed out along with Blonde Boy.  (July 2020)  We don’t know what his life was like before (his owners surrendered him).  I do know that his life improved immensely. With our assistance, that is. But if I had to guess, I bet he continues to get by on his looks…

This black kitten was 7 months old when surrendered to the shelter. He was in ISO and we did not think he would make it. I pledged $$ and a rescue stepped forward and pulled him to safety. It was September 2019. So long ago. Bet he grew up to be magnarvelous. 

This Russian Blue mom and her black kitten were bailed from the shelter in July 2020. They had been there a month when the shelter asked for help. I covered the shelter fees to get them both sprung. Linda handled the rest (which is everything). We were thankful the shelter allowed them to stay together. Those cold steel cages are so isolating. But what a couple of rockstarlets! I always love to see the freedom photos. Must feel fantastic to pluck them out of their cages and place them inside a blanketed carrier for the freedom ride to safety.😉 #lovehappyendings #LindaGetstheFunJob
