WHERE TEAPOTS AND TUNA BREATH LIVE IN HARMONY
October 2022: All I knew for certain is that a gorgeous Seal Point Siamese shelter kitten had a broken femur and multiple pelvic fractures. After Linda posted his photo on her FB group page, the usual suspects Liked and Shared, but nobody came up with the dough. Surgery would be pricey. There were approximately 590 FB page members, most of whom acknowledged this kitten’s possible fate with a teary-eyed emoji. I could not allow the shelter to kill him.
I pledged $200 to get rescue interest, but it would not be enough. Next, I asked Kathy L. if she could match my $200 and she did. I posted about Jacob on another FB group page, and as a result, one caring woman promised $100. Meanwhile on another FB page, Chris had $500 more in pledges.
It was a great day when Jacob was released. A wonderful pure breed foster got Jacob to her vet. He did great after his surgeries (they were able to keep his leg), although there was one setback: Jacob was diagnosed with FIP, that horrible disease that was once a death sentence. Luckily, this foster was already treating a cat with FIP and had access to the expensive and hard-to-obtain injections. Jacob’s treatment began right away. He got his soft landing thanks to networking and a knowledgeable, caring foster.
I am sharing his initial rescue video first followed by a progress update video. Hugs!! So happy to be a small part of saving Jacob’s life.
